I haven't read all this series but it doesn't matter the author does enhance some details so that this can be read as a stand aloneThe author asked me if I would like to read this she knows that sometimes i like to jump into a good loveromance sometimes which breaks up my usual genre It has to be a good one though and I know that Anna Clifton delivers those kind of reads that aren't mushy too overboard and has a realistic feel to themThis is a story about Sara and Cooper it does have some intense moments mushy moments but romantic suspense too Maybe because I read other books and not romantic books often this made this book stand out for me I always think its nice to swap around certain genres so that you can read afresh I think this was a great book for me to relax with and just sit and enjoy and go with the flowThank you to Net Galley but to the author too for my very good read

375 starsThis book started off a bit slow for me but with the amazing characters I couldn't help but like this book I love Sara and Cooper They just work They have their secrets and hidden agendas but their relationship seems to work for them They don't want to keep secrets from each other but they have good reasons to They had some very cute and sweet moments I had that dopey smile on my face when they were together They really are adorable Sara does have trouble opening up to Cooper but I mean if you knew your husband just got out of jail and was possibly coming after you I would probably push everyone away from me I really felt sympathy for Sara She is constantly living in fear and she has people in her life that she wants to protect than anything She pushes herself to live but also has to keep looking over her shoulder Cooper's family adopts Sara as a sister of sorts and everyone thinks she is just fantastic except for Cooper He is trying to put Sara's husband Tony Dennis back in jail but needs to get close to her to find something to use against Tony I like that he was trying to be good to her and wasn't just using her the entire time His family would probably kill him if he hurt her He has to learn to trust Sara as much as Sara has to learn to trust him I love Cooper's family His father and his siblings are really close with Sara She now has a family to love her They are a great family They give Sara another reason to stay strong Sara and Cooper especially have such great depth to their characters We learn about their pasts and how their experiences have affected them I admire how they work to overcome their struggles and keep living My problem with the story is that the plot was moving a bit too slow for me There were some great scenes that made me laugh cry smile and keep me on my toes but there were also a few parts of the book that moved so slowly I was starting to lose interest I expected a bit suspense because at any given moment Tony could just show up and that is pretty darn scary I know that Sara has a life and people to care for but I expected intensity More suspense The plot wasn't bad at all but it wasn't consistently the most thrilling or engaging either With all of that said I liked this book a lot mostly because of the characters but took off a star or so because the plot did drag on and off throughout the book I still want to go back and read the other books in this series especially the one about Harry and Somer Can't wait I didn't realize this was part of a series when I started it but I am interested to see what the characters have been up to in the other books This book can be read as a standalone I received this ARC via Netgalley

Copping It Sweet  Anna CliftonReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsGenre  Romance I loved Anna's New Year’s Promise and her Making Ends Meet  so was hoping I’d love this one too I enjoyed it but it didn’t have the same pull for me as the other two reads and I’m not really sure why that is I think maybe its that the main leads Sara and Cooper just didn’t have the same appeal to me I didn’t feel I really knew or understood them and couldn't really get too worked up about their romance of the issues they were facing I guess the plot that centred around Sara’s husband felt a bit unreal to me too The explanations were all there the ends all tied up and yet for me it just felt a bit unfulfilling Sometimes books are like that – you “should” like them all indications point that way and yet for some reason that just don’t uite meet the markIts a  good read but one of those I’d not reread Looking at what else Anna has written though I’m drawn to one of the early reads Adam’s Boys and have just bought that Yep I get loads of review books read lots through KU and still find ones I want to buy Stars Three a good read but not a keeper for me ARC supplied by Netgalley and publisher

This one just didn't work for me and I'm not even sure why The overall story is good and the writing is well done but I never connected with the characters and I think there were too many Aussie isms for me to really understand everything The pace of the story was a bit slow for me also As I said it just didn't work for me but not a bad book overall

Sara Sullivan doesn't have an easy life Falling in love with the wrong guy at an early age is now keeping her from really living Sara is still legally married to Tony and he just got released from prison Ever since Sara left him she has done nothing but hide She isn't making sure he can't find her instead Sara tries to keep him away from the people she loves Tony will not hurt her directly but he will hurt her by taking on everyone around her Sara lives in a small apartment now and has her own barber shop which is doing pretty well During her spare hours Sara is studying for an upcoming exam because she wants to get the degree she should have had all those years ago There is only one person who knows the truth about Sara's past and he is the brother of her best friend Cooper has been away for two years on an assignment in Singapore but now the time has come to return home The first person he sees after getting off the plane is Sara Cooper is wondering what she is doing here and he is not happy with the fact that she is close to his family Several years ago he tried to get Sara's husband behind bars for murder but he failed to get the right evidence His assignment now is clear Get the evidence he needs and try every possible resourceCooper has always felt attracted to Sara She is beautiful and when she lets her guard down she is a fun person to be around When Cooper finds out Sara has a math exam coming up he offers to help her out For him this is his way into Sara's life and hopefully he'll get the evidence that will put Tony behind bars againSara is a very sweet person with a big heart She made the wrong choice when she was young but she is trying to leave the past behind her I was amazed by her strength her determination to get her life back on track and by the kindness she shows others It must be horrible to live in so much fear and I admired the way she copes with that Cooper is big and handsome and he's a badass cop He would do anything for his family and for the people he loves which made me like him straight away I really enjoyed reading about the main characters of Copping It Sweet they're interesting and easy to likeCopping It Sweet is a beautiful story about coming back from a dark past and finding the light again The way Anna Clifton told this story grabbed me immediately She pulled me in and didn't let me go until the very last page If you like to read about crime close family connections and finding love again after hiding from it for a long time then Copping It Sweet will be the book for you This story delivers it all

35Cooper is recently back in Sydney Australia after spending time in Singapore He's a detective with a large family including unofficially adopted family friend Sara Sara and Cooper have never gotten along although now that he's back home he's beginning to see her in new way Sara's husband has a history of violence and has been stalking her since their separation 12 years prior Because of his history the police have been trying to get enough evidence on him to put him in jail Cooper's boss has him cozying up to Sara in order to get information from her but the time he spends with her the his feelings grow and the less interest he has in his job Unfortunately as the two get closer so does Sara's husband and I found this to be a cute book which is not how I expected to view this suspense prior to reading it The relationship between Cooper and Sara takes precedence over the suspense in this story We know that Sara's husband is watching her and she lives in constant fear of him but I never felt as though she was in imminent danger Instead we get to see the development of a sweet relationship between the two main characters The heat remains as a low simmer and while we know the characters become intimate there are no sex scenes writtenWhat kept me from enjoying this book than I did? I never felt fully immersed Maybe because I'm new to this author and her writing style or maybe I'm just having an off week? I did feel as though a lot of details mundane as they may have been were glossed over and a few things were left hanging at the end Regardless it is a nice story and will appeal to many fans of this genreMy thanks to NetGalley and Escape Publishing for the pleasure of reading and reviewing Copping It Sweet by Anna Clifton

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review I almost didst read through this book the start of it made me wonder what genre this was and I had to re read the synopsis again However as the book progressed that's when the actual story began I really loves Sara and her fierceness in protecting those near and dear to her I also wanted to strangle Cooper on several occasions as he was the stereotypical alpha male type always thinking her knows best and is right The dynamic between the two is hilarious as Sara is too strong willed to be shaken down by Cooper and his alpha male tendencies and while they start off as frienemies their relationship soon blossoms into something As Sara is still married to a criminal Cooper has been longing for years to put away behind bars for murder this story is than just a heartfelt love story There is mystery murder and lots of emotion from each character I did enjoy this book however the start for me was slow going and a little confusing hence my hesitation between giving this book 3 or 4 stars Realistically I would give it somewhere between 3 and 4 stars because of this However if you can look past the slow beginning it is a good read and the character buildup is well written with characters that you grown to love I didn't realize at first that it was part of a series however there wasnt a sense that I lost information or background at not having read any other book by this author
