Janes Dilemma Survivors of Paradise # 3

Sed?Jane’s got reasons on top of reasons to ignore the spark building between herself and the handsome Gkiven But parenting in space especially when always in danger of pirates attacking constantly reminds Jane that there’s to life than just survivingCan a grumpy alien with a gooey marshmallow heart and the body of a Greek god convince Jane to embrace love again? Survivors Of Paradise Book Three was awesome Well written and full of intense as well as emotional scenes I was super glad that Jane had a happy ending after being through so much it was a great read I would recommend this book to mother's especially who can relate to their children being their world Jane always put her son Logan first before anything including romance but opened her heart to Henta a hot yes hot alien who oozed masculinity from the moment I first started reading about his character Jane was hard to break into emotionally but she had to let Henta in after they became bound to one another which wasn't her choice but after getting to know and opening her heart to him wouldn't change a thing A love story with twists and turns this was a super read

Jane doesn’t have time for nonsense like hopes dreams or romance She’s all about practicality and endurance a mindset that’s saved her life than once The weak don’t survive zombies alien slavers or space warsand Jane has someone else depending on her strengthLogan Jane’s three year old son will survive no thrive and she’ll do anything to make that happen Plot vs character dynamics I enjoyed this book better than the last It had a bit substance at least at the beginning I felt I got plot and character development and fewer sex scenes to mask the story line However the second half of the book didn’t really move the story forwardOr maybe it did move the story forward but it happened in a way that left me feeling left out as the reader Rather than showing what happened with the Trialliance the author tells the reader in a few lines The important stuff dealing with plot is hidden while an emphasis is placed on sex scenes It gets rather old in my opinion Perhaps others prefer the opposite thoughOne thing that bothers me as a Black reader is how unfamiliar the author seems to be with Black features The author treats Black skin like White skin For example she mentions the heroine’s breast turning bright red after getting what I’m guessing are hickies Yes Black people get hickies and blush However bright red isn’t a great description unless the person is really pale which wasn’t my impression of the heroineThe author also talks about the heroine’s hair as being the same as her son’s corkscrew curls I’m not saying this can’t happen I just don’t feel like it recognizes the differences between an interracial child and an individual who seemed to be wholly descended from Africa Yes corkscrew curls are possible but typically it takes styling to get there whereas an interracial child could naturally have it Black folks’ hair is so varied I’m not ruling it out Just saying it stood out as odd to meI like seeing POC as leads It’s great the author gave it a go It’s even better when authors take time to understand and get it rightOverall the character personalities were great but I would like to have seen plot So far the amount of plot in the combined books I’ve read in the series isn’t enough to fill a single novel Plenty of character development though 35 stars

A little deeper than the other 2 and the action was cool; the parts Jane misses when knocked out are picked up by Paul at the end so didn't feel gypped out of the fun like in Lanie's choice when she's busy boinking through the main conflict Prob my favorite
