Reak for flirty fun only dates she's now Ella But one man can see the real woman beneathFiercely private billionaire Jake Donner has never forgotten Eleanor and he's I'm a sucker for reunion romances I'll admit it Eleanor and Jake were both poor kids in Perth Australia without anyone except each other Jake escaped to Sydney and truly feeling the meaning of alone Eleanor felt his loss keenly even though he'd refused to return her declaration of loveFast forward 13 years and jump coasts to Sydney Ella has changed everything that people had rejected about poor Eleanor including her name She now helps others to do the same through her image consultancy business Re enter Jake needing help to lose his surly geek persona to secure the future of his companyI was looking forward to this second book from Australian writer Leah Ashton in its spanky new Riva cover jury's still out on the design I'm afraid Harleuin and I read it in one sitting Both main characters are very accessible and believable as is the way that their past friendship helps break down the stubborn negative certainties both hold onto for protectionMs Ashton has fortunately ignored the advice to new writers about avoiding flashbacks letting us enjoy and inspect the connection between the characters from different perspectives If it takes them a while to truly let go of their protective behaviours before the HEA then at least we understand whyLeah Ashton is easy enjoyable reading for women who want a realistic romance that speaks to today's lifestyles and relationships At only two books a year I'll be waiting for her third book impatiently

    Seriamente perché A girl less ordinary diventa magicamente Ti prego non spogliarti? Perché? PERCHE'?Santi numi della letteratura incarnatevi in ualche Jinn e spiegatemi uesta cosaE' un titolo completamente e inutilmente fuorviante a me ha subito fatto penare ad un romanzo un po' suallidino in cui protagonista assoluto fosse il sesso E invece manco per nienteNon è un libro candidato al Nobel per la letteratura sia ben chiaro Ma nel suo genere non mi è affatto dispiaciuto gradevole per passare un paio d'ore senza dover attivare tutti i vostri neuroni Insomma se siete stanchi avete bisogno di fare una pausa e leggere ualcosa di carino Io consiglio e poi ha un prezzo super uindi DDunue mivi evito la parte in cui la parte lamentosa di me ha il sopravvento e critica la prevedibilità della storia Sì ok implicitamente l'ho fatto con ueste righe ma conoscendomi potrei andare avanti per ore XDAlla fin fine il romanzo nasce come storia d'a ben dichiarata non si nasconde dietro nulla uindi non l'ho vista come una cosa fastidiosa eo penalizzante per la lettura Ero ben conscia di uello che mi aspettava uindi nessuna brutta sorpresa Anzi forse mi ha anche piacevolmente stupito in positivoLa storia è carina e all'80% mi è piaciuto anche come è scritta Non mi è piaciuta al 100% perché la Ashton inserisce TROPPO lo stream of consciousness di Ella Insomma o sei un narratore esterno o interno Non puoi mescolarmi in modo pasticciato le due cose Che nervi certe volte uesti inserimenti di commentipensieri della protagonista ogni tanto ci stavano pure Ma seriamente sono presenti in modo esageratoA tratti è anche ironica l'autrice E ciò mi ha sorpreso chissà perché ma non me lo aspettavo çç Brava Chissà che non mi prenda voglia di leggere altro di suo DIl fatto che il romanzo fosse estremamente breve meno di 180 pagine e il libro è assai piccino è stata un'arma a doppio taglio da una parte elemento gradito e indispensabile in uanto mi ha fatto scattare la scintilla per iniziarlo uando mi ero ripromessa di smaltire prima un po' di letture dall'altra però un po' una limitazione perché la storia si svolge troppo frettolosamente molti elementi avrebbero potuto essere sviluppati meglio e ogni tanto l'autrice mi ha dato l'impressione di risolvere in caciara alcuni elementiMi sono piuttosto piaciuti i protagonisti Jake nerd smanettone a capo di una compagnia di telefoni e milionario grazie ad essa e Ella che da ragazza sfigata si è re inventata ed è diventata una consulente di immagine e mi è piaciuto anche come entrambi vengano presentati con relativo background e simili Ma c'è la nota dolente con me non può uasi mai mancare D; alcuni elementi mi sono sembrati davvero troppo forzati e ualche cliché avrebbe potuto essere evitato senza troppi traumi per la storia Poi non so a volte Jake e Ella mi sembravano affetti dalla doppiatripla personalità sinceramenteAh uasi dimenticavo Mi è piaciuto il fatto che pur essendo una storia pensata per un pubblico femminile il sesso non è tirato in ballo così a casaccio Insomma mi piace uando c'è ma il fatto che sia contestualizzato lo apprezzo di piùVabbé me la smetto di lamentarmi ed elucubrare su uestioni futili Promosso DSono una novellina nel genere uindi non so valutarlo rispetto ad altri dello stesso genere ma mi rifaròPS Mi piacciono le copertine scelte dalla Harleuin Mondadori Coloratissime e allegre

    This was really really sweet Author did great job of setting up couple's past without overwhelming the current story Didn't love the grand gesture at the end but an enjoyable read with yummy sweet romance

    I found Eleanor a difficult character to engage with and the premise of her being an image consultant working for the hero didn't work for me
