Great mind exercise taking the reader through all the different areas of change already in flight in the digital marketplace in regards to “analog” companies versus “digital” He provides a business oriented methodology for breaking down and analyzing what change looks like and how organizations need to reflect on how and why they do things and what this would look like on a path towards staying relevant in a digital marketplace What is good about his perspective is it is not wholly rooted in the technology perspective but includes the business profit driven perspective I find it difficult to give credit to the technology perspective where it is assumed that techdigital will automatically mean success and profit He does address this throughout the book when breaking down startups and early market tech players Overall a great read and very thought provoking

Digitize or Die is a wake up callIt’s a read that you’ll want to keep a handy copy of for referencing it over and over It’s easy to understand although I have to admit I had to read it slowly And after finishing the digital version at the end of the year I went ahead and purchased the paper back Not very digital of me – I know however there are many aspects of this book I wanted to show and tell others about It provides great clarity on what IoT actually is and how this revolution continues to change the way we think behave work buy and how ultimately it affects all aspects of our livesNicolas places core emphasis on the imperative nature of Customers as his step 0 – the start point in his 4 step IoT4 Methodology stating that “It’s not the technology that drives the financial performance and customer satisfaction it’s the experience the enchantment”I thoroughly enjoyed the increased awareness Nicolas Windpassinger’s volume 1 provides I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the context and sheer speed in which our world is changing through digitization due to the rapidly increasing knowledge and moment by moment insight IoT provides in terms of customer preferences and behaviour
