Mikael Blomkvist crusading journalist and publisher of the magazine Millennium has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation between Eastern Europe and Sweden implicating well known and highly placed members of Swedish society business and governmentBut he has no idea just how explosive This was a good read it's a trilogy the first and third books are a lot fast paced and thrilling the second book dragged a little in the middle for me The main ie girl Salander is by far the best character you will definitely develop feeling for her in this trilogy If you read book one then it's worth reading all 3 and it's very sad the author is no longer with us he would be happy to know there are so many people wishing for a 4th book I hear there might be a 4th script ready They are very enjoyable and full of edge of your seat fear very fast paced and nail biting the will make up want to jump in the book and save her to me that's a great read it I want to be part of it I did not see the movie or read the Swedish books which I hear are absolutely brilliant Sex trafficking is a very real problem all across the 🌎 globe

Mickael Blomkvist publisher of Millennium decides to run a story by a freelance reporter about the sex trade exposing an extensive sex trafficking operation in Sweden Before the publication was released the reporter and his girlfriend responsible for the article and thesis were murdered and the fingerprints found on the weapon belong to his friend Lisbeth Salander Blomkvist doesn't believe she’s guilty and starts an investigation to prove her innocence Meanwhile Salander is drawn into a game of cat and mouse having to face her past to connect the dots on what's missing from the puzzle pieces The beginning of the book has no significance to the rest of the book but starts with Salander narrating her experiences from what transpired after The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo This book sets a different tone putting Salander at the forefront of all the action and media which is a place she probably didn’t think she would end up Fortunately the way she lives her personal life finding ways to maneuver around the system through hacking helps her stay untraceable One of the bigger topics I came across in this book was the horrible way women are treated by a certain type of men Whether it be sex trafficking women and under aged girls; treating them as though they were property at their disposal Using their power or authority over a woman to get what they want such as Bjurman or even the disrespectful sexist men in a workplace who are threatened by a woman who is sure of herself and the value she brings to the table There were a lot of problematic patriarchal men in this book working on a case to solve a crime but some only want to follow one narrative on someone out of convenience and not actual solid evidence I’ve never been able to get inside the mind of these types of people to comprehend their self entitlement in a situation but this book paints a good picture to the point of me feeling discussed by reading certain POVs and also astonished with how they justify their actions towards women Page 45 “She had enticed him with her cute little girl eyes had seduced him with a body that looked like a twelve year old She had provoked him to rape her” Bjurman We finally get to learn about Salander’s past what she went through growing up and “All The Evil” I got a better understanding of why she is how she is why she’s so private and why she doesn’t trust authorities to help her People underestimate Salander because of her background history but not many people solving the case cared to understand her which is why Blomkvist took it upon himself to help her prove her innocence Overall I enjoyed reading this book The first half of the book is purely information to understand the story The details unfold the interesting the story becomes I never felt bored reading this Definitely would recommend this book and series to read

I was disappointed when this book came to an end since I know it was the last book in the series authored by Stieg Larsson I enjoyed book one liked book two than one and loved book three As in his previous books Larsson interweaves various storylines to create an intricate plot and he provides closure at the end of the book One of the aspects I liked most about the book was the character development specifically of Blomkvist and Salander I recommend the series to anyone interested in an engaging story with engaging storylines and excellent character development

Steig Larsson’s Millenium Trilogy is one of the most documented most reviewed and most successful sellers on This review is not of the books per se that would be about as redundant as possible This short review if found like a needle in a haystack by someone looking for this specific topic is a product review of the Random House Large Print editions in soft cover which I purchased from as they came out in 2009 10Volumes as large as this purchased as mass market paperbacks can be as cumbersome to read as eye strain can get If you are not a Kindle reader take great comfort in physically holding a nice big book and love that new book smell this is the way to go The soft cover binding is both strong and pliable easy to hold on your lap in both your hands or set up on your chest in bed The large print is a very comfortable contrast typeface that is perfect whether or not you wear glasses The paper uality is superb and all in all Random House has spared no expense at producing a high uality product for boomers who like to read “real books” and want to rest the eyes when devouring a massive epic like this one At 20 25 per book you might be thinking why not just buy the hard back edition Good uestion At the time it was even higher priced than this one and I was under wallet restrictions I do have to say however these large editions are handsome on the shelf feel nice and comfortable in handling and offer the perfect mixture of easy on the eyes and perfect manual dexterity friendliness You can’t go wrong with a publisher like Random House their bindings are solid paper uality the highest and their print is superior to many others

I’ve been aware of these books for years but the title of the first put me off and I never considered reading them Having been given ‘The girl with the dragon tattoo’ for free I reluctantly read it I was hooked I loved the story It grips you and doesn’t let go until the end of the book The second book is even better It is painful at times and difficult to read I got so emotionally tied up with the characters that I grieved and felt real loss and hurt at times for them Have just downloaded the third book and am about to start If you have any hesitation about reading this and feel it is not your kind of bookdon’t Best series I’ve read for years

Well I’m certainly glad I gave the second book a go as it was much better than the first It didn’t have as many boring bits as the first although the mathematical facts and euations were a bit random and I was expecting them to become relevant However they didn’t maybe the reason for the inclusion of these will become apparent in the third bookThe character development was much intense you really got to know Lisbeth but at the same time you also felt like you didn’t know her as you doubted her and believed she could be the murdererIt was very cleverly written as it was all written from Lisbeth’s point of view up to the point of the murders and then it switched so you didn't know what had happened to her or what she had done so you were as much in the dark as the police and Blomkvist was I really enjoyed this one and I'm looking forward to book three

Excellent follow up to Dragon Tattoo probably excels it in my view Larsson had a superb writing style and a way of making you really care what happens to all his characters so unveiling the background to Lisbeth's past life works really well as this book goes along together with further developing her off beat partnership with Mikael Blomvist Gripping and intense plot moves along swiftly with lots of intertwined threads that come together in unexpected ways a little too much graphic violence for my taste in some parts which is why I didn't give it 5 stars but none the less highly recommended Sad that he was unable to write than this Trilogy before he passed away
