On Beauty dS convinced thateath by rejection might in fact be a thingWhat I enjoyed most about this book was the writing and originality especially that of the first half Sure the plot itself is at times redundant and tends to have some BWWM (Interracial African American Billionaire Baby Romance Marriage Urban) 2222 (Interracial African American Billionaire Baby Romance Marriage Urban) 2222: Billionaires Secret Baby (BWWM Interracial African American Romance Urban Baby Romance Short Stories) dragging points but woven into this prolonged cycle of Sarah finding Eddie are heartbreaking side stories with extremely touching outcomes For me this was good storytelling and even though there are elements I wish had focus and some that could have been a bit less pronounced I had fun with this one and would recommend it not necessarily as a love story but a tale of the lengths people will go to in order to find some happiness And of course to witness firsthand the art of being ghostedTraveling Sister Read Ghosted was a frustrating read The majority of my frustrations stem from the book s structure While there are some wonderful pockets as a whole this bookid not work for me Sarah and Eddie met by chance They spend seven glorious passion filled Confessions of a Gay Priest: A Memoir of Sex, Love, Abuse, and Scandal in the Catholic Seminary days together and make plans for the future But then Eddie ghosts Sarah who cannot comprehend why the love of her life would vanish without a trace Sarah verges on obsession trying to find out what happened to Eddie and begins to uestion whether or not there time together was realMy reading experience It took until I reached the 50% mark for me to get into this I found the first half boring and Sarah s obsession with Eddie began to grate on my nerves Since the reader only gets glimpses of her time with Eddie vs being immersed in their time together Iidn t feel their connection and began to wonder if Sarah was mentally ill I was going to DNF and began scrolling through my tbr to plan my escape But I had some uestions about Sarah and came up with a crazy theory so I kept on reading to see if I was right about her I was completely wrong There s a major twist which threw me for a loop and finally Black Love Signs : An Astrological Guide to Passion, Romance and Relationships for African Americans (aka Sexy Black Sun Signs: An Astrological Guide to Love and Romance for African-Americans) drew me into the book But then and twists come which I justidn t find necessary Why couldn t we just get a straightforward heartfelt read and have characters face their fears and emotions instead of putting things off continuously Since I never felt the romantic tension between the characters I could care less about whether or not they got together and the air of mystery keeping them apart just made me frustrated Had we seen them together perhaps my feelings for them would have grown But alas they Das Schwert der Totengöttin did not Lastly there were some weird transitions and time jumps I read an ARC of Ghosted so the final version might read a littleifferently In the version I read I had to keep going back to see if I missed certain events I The Algorithmic Beauty of Seaweeds Sponges and Corals did not or if the author just skipped over some important events it appears sheid I feel like Ghosted has a lot of potential and I was intrigued by parts of it However I have a read a few romances recently that kept me reading all night to see if the characters would get together or back together and sadly Ghosted just Black Love Signs : An Astrological Guide to Passion, Romance and Relationships for African Americans (aka Sexy Black Sun Signs: An Astrological Guide to Love and Romance for African-Americans) doesn t compare For anyone who has ever waited for the call thatidn t come I ve never shied away from the fact that I m a reader with a strong opinion so why start now It s not that I enjoy writing one star reviews or labeling something as not for me but the reality is there are books that walk into my life and on t work for one reason or anotherIt was the promise of a love story and the loaded title wrapped in a pretty package that started the incessant pitter patter in my chest I was so sure this would be one to rememberIn hindsight maybe I should have listened to the voice in my head telling me after only a few chapters this voice in my head telling me after only a few chapters this t going to go well and simply moved on Instead ever the optimist and own a BOTM credit I Women's Activism and Social Change Rochester New York 1822 1872 decided to stuff those nagging feelings somewhereeep and forge ahead with an open mind I could make this work rightThe first red flag my inability to succumb to the author s style Her writing lacked finesse and landed On The Bland Side Of The Spectrum When She Wasn the bland side of the spectrum when she wasn getting caught up in the weeds literally Rosie Walsh has a strange penchant for The Western Scar: The Theme of the Been-To in West African Fiction drifting off andescribing the outdoor scenery regardless of the fact that her characters find themselves indoors or that it s simply irrelevant to the storyline I m talking trees grass valleys grass birds grass the sky Understanding Shutter Speed did I mention the grass It seems to be a favorite of hers winkThe big beating heart of the story should have been the couple Sarah and Eddie who supposedly fallesperately in love after spending a mere seven perfect The Mother I Carry: A Memoir of Healing from Emotional Abuse days together Here is where the problem lies as readers we are only privy to a few vignettes over that sevenay period meaning the Anthology of Articles on African Linguistics and Literature development of Sarah and Eddie s relationship is non existent Missing out on the best part of any budding relationship the actual falling colors this entire story with aeep shade of insta love Failing to see understand or feel the spark of the couple s connection in my bones I couldn t view Sarah s actions after she s ghosted by Eddie as anything than the insipid whining of a very The Writing Workshop desperate woman Granted being ghosted would hurt but after sevenays by a man you barely know to be this obsessed Come on Had Sarah been 15 to 20 years younger she s on the brink of 40 and not yet ivorced from her husband of 17 years who she s now come to realize she never really loved MAYBE I WOULD HAVE CUT HER I would have cut her slack and not pitied her esperation uite so muchThe author tries to weave some mystery into the storyline but the execution is melodramatic at best The sheer number of coincidences irrelevant secondary characters each with their own carry on bags jam packed with Distant Echoes Finding Keys To Life After Abuse drama and the author trying her hand at trickery one too many times left me wishing I would have trusted my gut and ghosted this cast early on Thanks to the all of my lovely Traveling Sisters for the livelyiscussion It s always a riot reading everyone s take on the same story and finding out what one person hones in on compared to another Looking forward to our next one This was my July BOTM pick selectionremorse. Must be an explanationMinutes How Debuggers Work Algorithms Data Structures and Architecture days weeks go by as Sarah becomes increasingly worried But then sheiscovers she's right There is a reason for Eddie's An Alien Heat disappearance and it's the one thing theyidn't share with each other the tru.

The Man Who Didn't CallNorma and I read Ghosted with seven of our Traveling Sisters and we had some very strong views on this one that not only split us into two The Alchemy of Culture: Intoxicants in Society different Coulees but two Coulees nowhere near each other Ghosted starts off a bit slow and weightedown a bit as we are introduced to a story that seems like boy meets girl and they fall in love but there is much going on in this story than meets the eye though For some of us we started to see a Rough Rider: BWWM Interracial MC Biker Alpha Male Romance different story here hidden in the coincidences of this love story that really isn t a love story This is where we started to split as some of usid not buy into the love story and wanted to see into the relationship between our two main characters Sarah and Eddie Sarah blinded by love and what started off as an intense happy feeling of love and bliss soon turns into an obsession of thoughts as Sarah tries to find out the truth Rosie Walsh explores something Sonic Alchemy: Visionary Music Producers and Their Maverick Recordings deeper here and it really isn t a love story but a story hiddeneep within the relationship of Sarah and Eddie She explores something common but not something often talked about or something we were aware of before reading this story as well as exploring pain loss and family Mapping wild gardens: The symbolic conquest of South Africa (African literatures in English) drama andynamics which at times Gramatica de baza a limbii romane does feel a bit tooramatic Ghosted Suggestive Inuiry into the Hermetic Mystery with a Dissertation on the More Celebrated of the Alchemical Philosophers Being an Attempt Towards the Recovery of the Ancient Experiment of Nature does start off slow and sometimesoes become repetitive and I with a couple other sisters made my way up to the top of the coulee looking for a way to escape but just as I was ready to jump out I left two of my sisters there and Rosie Walsh pulled me back into the coulee with Norma and three of our other TS and we couldn t put this book College University Budgeting: College And University Budgeting down until we were finished In the end the four of us were looking for a tissue and felt uite satisfied with this heartwarming ending I highly recommend Ghosted to readers who are looking for a story thatigs a little Integrating Cleveland Baseball deeper into the emotional side with a twist that might leave you surprised If you are looking to connect to these characters based on their relationship and love story alone this might not be the one for you As always we recommend you give it a try to find out where you might land with this story Thank you so much to Edelweiss Pamela Dorman Books Penguin Publishing Group and Rosie Walsh for the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this bookThis is Traveling Sisters GR Reading Group Review and it can be found posted on our themed book blog Two Sisters Lost In A Coulee ReadinghttpstwosisterslostinacouleecomCoulee a term applied rather loosely toifferent landforms all of which refer to a kind of valley Coulee references are symbolic to our reading experience Although I The Modern Drunkard's Adventures with Alcohol did finish this book and the ending had some touching moments Io not feel comfortable assigning a rating This is because uite frankly I skimmed through uite a bit of this I just never connected with many of the plot points and also thought there was way to much teenage angst present from a middle aged woman This was a sisters read and many loved this soit s uite possible it is not the book that is at fault but myself who chose to read a book that Was Not For MoiSo not for moiSo leave it at that A cop out I know but the best I FEEL ABLE TO DO IN ALL able to Grassroots Leviathan do in all Read the other reviews and judge for yourself whether or not you think the book will appealARC from Edelweiss 45 StarsGHOSTED by ROSIE WALSH was such a beautifully written love story that had a hint of mystery to it and a few surprising twists that I absolutely adored This book was extremely gripping intense and a heartwarming story that had me totally engaged and interested right from the very first chapter to the very last page I was totally intrigued and emotionally invested in this whole story and I really appreciated that I went into this one blind Some parts of this novel I had an intimate and emotional connection to ROSIE WALSHelivers an original well paced and well written read here with believable and convincing characters I could totally relate to Sarah Eddie s characters and their short and intense relationship My relationship with my husband was so similar to the love story in this book So for that very reason I found this story both intense and beautiful and had me choked up uite a few times I was totally entertained and flew through those pagesPublishing Date July 24 2018This was another extremely compulsive read for me as I was emotionally invested and gripped right from the beginning which followed through to that extremely touching and stunning conclusion Would highly recommendThank you so much to Edelweiss Pamela Dorman Books Penguin Publishing Group and Rosie Walsh for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a reviewReview written and posted on our themed book blog Two Sisters Lost In A Coulee ReadinghttpstwosisterslostinacouleecomCoulee a term applied rather loosely to Voices and Veils different landforms all of which refer to a kind of valley I ll preface this by saying that many readers will be enthralled by Ghosted It may be my coldark heart but I am not among them After spending six ays Together Eddie And Sarah Fall Hopelessly In Love Both Are Eddie and Sarah fall hopelessly in love Both are forty and I can t help but think this is uite a stretch Poof Eddie isappears Sarah is 57 Ways to Screw Up in Grad School devastated and spends an inordinate amount of time trying to find him This was tedious and rather pathetic Eddie s side of the story is eually insipid Again blame my coldark heart not the novel Coincidence and contrivance continue until it s wrapped up with a big shiny bow As a Love in Bloom debut novel it s fine and I think Walsh will have a successful romance writer s career If you are a romance reader keep her on your radar This is one of my favorite fiction reads of 2018 I think it helped just jumping right into the book without rereading the synopsis that I had long ago forgotten Really all you need to know is Sarah and Eddie spend an incredible week together even though they have just met make plans to see one another after Eddie comes back from vacation and then Eddie ceases all communication with Sarah and When Sarah meets Eddie they connect instantly and fall in love To Sarah it seems as though her life has finally begun And it's mutual It's as though Eddie has been waiting for her too Sarah has never been so certain of anything He is left wondering what happened I just really love how the author used the whole ghosting concept in the book I think it is totally relatable as aating fear that you will connect with someone and then the person just mysteriously vanishes from your life and you are left to wonder what went wrong It brought a level of mystery to the story as you wondered what exactly happened to make Eddie stop contacting Sarah The pacing of the story was excellent as the author African Native Literature: Or, Proverbs, Tales, Fables and Historical Fragments in the Kanuri or Bornu Language did notrag the mystery until the last 5 pages to reveal what happened Instead the story unfolded naturally and went in all these interesting and unexpected The Alcohol Bible directions What I find both strange and amusing is I actually found the background of Sarah and Eddie first meeting and spending time together to be the weakest part of the story And yet I still felt invested in their relationship and getting to the bottom of what happened Kudos to the author for such an entertaining readI won a free copy of this book in a giveaway but was under no obligation to post a review All views expressed are my honest opinion 25 rounded upThis is one that I thought I would love what s not to love about a love story But I justidn t connect There were several things that rang true in this novel marriages Hermetic Alchemy Science and Practice The Golden Dawn Alchemy Series 2 don t always work accidents happen and handling grief isifficult and IELTS Academic and General Task 2 How to Write at a Band 9 Level different for each of us Thereefinitely were some tough things that happened to the characters and I felt for them over their losses over the burdens they carried But the premise of the book that had a woman falling apart after a one week affair with a man who BWWM disappears from her life justidn t work for me mainly because there just wasn t enough of their time together shown to reflect a realistic connection between them for me If I had felt that connection I could have gone with the flow and accepted all of the coincidences that made this feel a little contrived with a predictable ending It s barely 3 stars for me Bottom line is that I m not the audience for this but I wouldn t be surprised if this Morning by Morning: How We Home-Schooled Our African-American Sons to the Ivy League does well with fans of romance I upped it to 3 stars in spite of the things Iidn t connect with because I How Al-Anon Works for Families Friends of Alcoholics did connect with the grief expressed by Sarah and Eddie for their sisters in the letters they wrote This was my first read with Traveling Sisters and I enjoyed getting the perspectives of others who read this even though we allidn t agree I received an advanced copy of this book from Pamela DormanPenguin Publishing Group through Edelweiss I ll be honest and say that this book has left me feeling conflicted The concept of ghosting intrigued me but Ghosted ended up being something other than what I expected Sarah Eddie meet spend a week together fall BWWM (Interracial Romance BWWM African American Multicultural Romance) *1 (Interracial Romance BWWM African American Multicultural Romance) *1: Billionaires Secret Baby (BWWM Secret Baby Romance Contemporary Romance) deeply in love Maybe my romantic heart has hardened with age but the fact that this thirty something year old woman became OBSESSED with Eddie after 7ays just Prophetic Activism didn t seem romantic to me It felt unstable All her frantic unanswered attempts to reach out to Eddie crossed a line in my mind She appearedesperate unbalanced and stalkerish I found myself feeling annoyed with Sarah s behavior I simply had no sympathy for her as a character mostly because of the way she was acting She was very self centered not even noticing what her friends were going through around her ue to her Eddie Tunnel Vision Yet I Admittedly Was Still Intrigued By I admittedly was still intrigued by could have actually led to Eddie ghosting her Walsh laid out several breadcrumbs and my curiosity was efinitely piued There was no oubt that I had to know what Was Actually Going On actually going on Eddie married Was he a criminal Was Sarah actually mentally unbalanced and imagining the connection they had So back to actually mentally unbalanced and imagining the connection they had So back to conflicted feelings regarding Ghosted Sarah genuinely annoyed me and I found the whole insta love aspect far fetched Yet I have to also admit that I found the book compulsively readable I couldn t put it own because Teaching Feminist Activism: Strategies from the Field despite its failings Iid want to find out what was actually going on I couldn t look away from Sarah unravelling before my eyes Her actions were reminiscent of a character in a bad Lifetime movie If you re like me you can t flip the channel on one of those either so you understand One surprising aspect was that I really connected with the grief aspect of the story The loss of a loved one is palpable raw real I thought Walsh s portrayal of the way various family members handle grief Your Beautiful Mind (Mindful Drinking Book 2) differently in response to tragedy was empathetic honest very wellone I enjoyed some of the twists this book took and it Culture Moves definitely wasn t what I expected going in Unfortunately I just never had a big enough connection to Sarah Eddie s insta love relationship to feel fully invested in what happened with them and that was the bulk of the book If I m going to be honest it wasefinitely curiosity than anything else that kept me turning the pages to the end 35 StarsGHOSTED Verb When someone you love Message in a Bottle: The Making of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome disappears without explanationThen your friends and family act like you re crazy
